Life St George's Hospital - Port Elizabeth: Ongoing Pain and No Response – Completely Ignored by Life St George’s Hospital

Ten years ago, when I was just 15 years old, I suffered a fall as a minor inside Life St George’s Hospital due to being overdosed, which resulted in the loss of several teeth. At the time, the hospital accepted responsibility and confirmed in writing that they would cover the costs related to the damage. Initially, they did help with the first replacements.

However, now—10 years later—I am in constant, agonizing pain from those old replacement teeth and urgently need new treatment. I have been trying for over 5 months to get in touch with the hospital to honour their original commitment, but I’ve been completely ignored.

Since 5 January 2025, I’ve had ongoing correspondence with a staff member named Debbie. After two months of back-and-forth and no progress, she simply stopped replying. I then reached out to someone named Lorna, who hasn’t returned a single call or email in over two weeks.

I call every week, desperately hoping someone will help, but I’m met with silence every time. It’s unacceptable that a patient in pain, with written confirmation of hospital responsibility, is being treated this way.
