Life St George's Hospital - Port Elizabeth
I lodged a complaint with the Hospital Manager, Wendy, on the 15th of March. She gave us her word that she would investigate the complaint and give feedback to us. After numerous follow up calls from my side we still do not have the necessary closure that we required. I have left countless messages for her to phone me back regarding my complaint. It just never seems to happen. So much for sticking to her word. It's absolutely shocking not to say the least. I have questions that needs answering. I would like to know why my 83 year old grandfather had to sit in an ambulance outside this hospital for 7 hours? Without so much as an offering of a sip of water. The staff running up and down for Medical aid information, that they already have on file. He's been repeatedly admitted to this exact hospital in the past without any problem with his medical aid. The official admitted time was just before 01:00 in the morning. He arrived per ambulance from Jeffreysbay at 16:00. Shocking right? As mentioned to Wendy in the board room where the Head Pharmacist made minutes of the meeting, I mentioned that the service and food received was worse than what we would've receive at our state owned hospital in George. My grandfather passed away on the morning of the 15th of March. We have questions and she's very clearly avoiding this whole situation and the questions we had.
