Life Hospital Rosepark has almost killed my Mother

My Mother who has Multiple Sclerosis was admitted to Life Rosepark Hospital in Bloemfontein on the at 13th of October 2015 at 13h00. As a result of MS she cannot move, but can talk. She can only can pass urine when sitting in a upright position with manual pressure on the bladder. She was given I.V fluids by Nursing staff before moving her to the Medical ward.<br> Dr Gibson instructed the nurses to insert a catheter by 20h00 , however at 21h00 it was not done and a commode toilet was requested use as the catheter was not yet inserted, but this was refused by the nurse.<br> The next morning still no catheter has been inserted but instead she was fitted with an adult diaper. My mother had on numerous times asked the staff to please insert the catheter to which the staffs only response was she that she has a diaper on and must use it. <br> My sister then went to ask if she may see the unit , but she was told that the unit manager is too busy and will not be able to attend to her or my mother. <br> When Dr Gigson did his round later the afternoon he realized that my mom has not passed urine for 30 excruciating uncomfortable because no catheter was inserted.<br> Nursing incompetence is evident. <br>
