Schylar, while everyone predicted only 3 days of life, you overcame the odds. Life Wilgeheuwel Private Hospital - Radiokop and Dr Ranchod, did everything to better the odds and took such good care of you. They saw a precious life where most medical experts see trisomy13 as non-compatible to life. So many times, you hear about trisomy 13 kids not even being resuscitated.

The hospital allowed me the extra minutes to spend with you (never showed me the door when visiting hours concluded), allow me to hold your tiny hand and later on to hold you. They allowed me all that because they knew our time could be limited. After 2 months of excellent care by Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital and Dr Ranchod, they finally agreed that we could take you home... Dr Ranchod played such a big role, providing not only medical care but also guidance on what the journey will bring next (the most excellent pediatrician).
