LIFE HEALTHCARE - UNABLE TO PRODUCE INVOICES FOR HOSPITAL STAYS

This review is about the Life Groups centralized accounting system. The hospital itself was really quite good. I was in hospital on for the period 23 to 25 March 2023 and myself and my Medical Aid, is yet to receive an account. I have e-mailed the Life Healthcare centralized accounts numerous times already requesting the details.

1st e-mail (26/03/2023) was ignored, 2nd e-mail (31/03/2023) acknowledged receipt but claimed that the network is down and that they could not produce any invoices. 3rd e-mail (11/04/2023)was acknowledged and the response was that the invoice would be ready in a week's time. 4th e-mail (19/04/2023) again just ignored. As I requested a "read receipt" I was notified that the e-mail was received and opened by someone. To date I still have to receieve the requested invoice.

I have Gap Cover to provide for any shortfalls or excesses to be paid by me. However the Gap cover insurer insists on a hospital invoice when submitting your claim. I have paid a substantial excess for hospitalisation and now cannot submit a claim to be reimbursed as I do not get a copy of the invoice from Life Heathcare.

I am a retired person and is now disadvantaged because of Life Healthcare inability or unwillingness to generate a copy of the invoice. It does not make sense that a entity as large as Life Healthcare cannot resolve their "network" issues in a month's time.
