My fiancee/husband had a colectomy yesterday which finished at 3pm He has a vertical incision infra diaphragmatic When I visited at about 6.30, he didn't smell lekka, but ASSUMED he would be washed last night or this morning. By 6pm today, he had still not been washed!!!!!! From 3pm until 6.30pm no one had offered him something to drink. My daughter had to go and ask for a straw. The nurse bought 1 straw for his ward-mate had asked for. The ward-mate kindly offered Leon his straw as Leon could obviously not sit up to drink. The ward could not find another straw!!!!! When he was admitted, there was only one curtain for his bed, with windows open to another corridor, while he received an enema, which was obviously needed for his surgery. REMEMBER THAT THIS IS A SCARED CANCER PATIENT. He was told that the light bulb of the light had been ******.......He had to ASK to brush his teeth and ask for water to brush his teeth........and then there was no towel.......so used a pillow case to wipe his mouth............ THIS IS A PRIVATE HOSPITAL IN SOUTH AFRICA......
