*********** Nurses

My daughter was admitted to Eugene Marais Hospital at around 14:00 19/10/2015. From the start it seems that the nurses did not want to be there and they where in no rush to help us. At 17:00 the nurse tried to put a IV on my daughter with no success. After a couple of nurses in ward tried to put the IV in they eventually decided to get an ICU Paeds Nurse to put the IV in with also no success. My wife then asked the nurse to rather leave the IV as by this time my daughter was already hysterical. <br> <br> This morning my wife when there very early to speak to the doctor and nurses, they said that my wife decided that my daughter do not need an IV. It is not the first time that we had to deal with the incompetence of the nurses at Eugene Marais Hospital and it seems that it is also not any better at any of the Life Hospitals. What happened to the quality of nurses? <br> <br> I understand that these days, hospitals are run like a business and that the stakeholders are more important than the patients. Life Hospital, get you act together. At one stage I would have recommended that people only make use of Life Hospitals but this is getting ridiculous. Start employing competent people.
