Huge amounts charged to Patient by Hospital

Please take care when you have to go the Eugene Marais hospital. We app**** for all the necessary authorizations from our medical aid, as supp**** by the specialist. We new there was a R1500 payment due by us for the hospital. Suddenly we received an account of over R6000.00 from the hospital. According to the medical aid report, the R4500 was never authorised. We were never informed by the hospital of anything else we needed to request authorization for. The hospital's story is that the medical aid doesn't cover it. Surely the hospital should know what must be pre authorized,, specially large amounts like this. The feedback from the credit department. They didn't really care. You just have to pay. Very disappointed with this service
