Healthcare complaint
<div>Good day Life Beacon Bay Hospital Around 18:00 I went to open a file at reception. Give or take a few mins but by 18:20 the file was opened. Upon completion of the file I was told to proceed to the waiting area. At the time I was the only person waiting to be attended to. Around 19:12 a trauma came in. I waited patiently to be attended to, until well after 19:30. I went into the emergency rooms for a laceration on my right hand. The cut had been bleeding profusely hence the visit to the E.R. Upon 2nd contact with a staff member from the E.R which had been a Dr. The Dr. had came in the room I was told to wait. Without introducing himself. He took my hand and started removing my plasters and taking a look at my hand. Followed by the Dr was a young male nurse wearing black glasses, who told me the Dr will do stitches. I proceeded to tell the nurse I would like "strips" or something which would leave me with minimal scaring. The nurse told me with much attitude that I should have said that from get go. The Dr put glue on my wound and told the nurse that he should dress it by applying pressure to the wound as the bleed still would not cease. Before the bandaid was app**** the nurse didn't even clean the blood stained hand properly. This young male nurse made the bandage so tight my fingers turned blue in less than 5mins. The nurse then left without telling me what will happen next. I waited for the nurse to return so I could ask him to loosen the bandage. After about 20mins with no return of the nurse. I went to the reception area to ask one of the staff what exactly it is that I'm waiting for because I'd been left without any information. The lady whom was at reception told me in a very irritated tone that there is a major trauma and I explained that I understood but I've been patient enough, I was irked that I'd been left unattended for 20mins. With fingers that were now turning blue. The nurse attending to my wound then showed up. He asked me to go to a bed so he could give me an injection and finally loosen my bandaid. The bed I was on was next to reception area. I could hear the conversation the lady nurse was having with a Dr. *****. She was telling him that I am not happy for I've been waiting, Dr. ***** asked what I was in for she told him. Dr. ***** very loudly and boldly shouted that he doesn't have time to attend to "****". That I would be a waste of his time. I asked the male nurse attempting to loosen my bandaid if he heard the conversation. He became instantaneously uncomfortable. I asked him what the Dr's name was. He told me it's Dr.**** the manager of the E.R dept and his boss. I thanked him for his service and left. To say the least, I was made to feel like I was going around asking for bread at street corners in a impoverished area. The mere fact that Dr. ***** could speak about a patient in the manner which he did is beyond appalling. But, the fact that he could do it so loudly tells me as a 1st time patient at L.B.B.H he's mannerisms, bedside manner and patient etiquette is null and void. He is overly confident in speaking like this so his patients can hear? To say the least I would never want to go back to this hospital EVER again. I have never received or heard of such appalling treatment and that being a private hospital. My hand smells of blood and is profusely sticky from the blood left on it. If this is how people are treated who have to spend their money with you, I would not want to imagine how those without funds are treated. These Dr's and nurses have lost touch with what their oath stands for and what patient care truly is from beginning to end. </div>
