GROSS NEGLIGENCE
My husband was booked into Life Wilgeheuwel for a Septoplasty on 10 Sept 2015. He went to theatre at 8 in the morning. When I phoned at 10 I was told that he was still in theatre. I called back at 11:47 and he was nowhere to be found. I then called after one. Reception put me through to the ward he was supposed to be in and I was told he was in ICU. I then asked to be transferred ti ICU. The nurse on duty put the phone down and continued with her discussion and the dropped the phone in my ear. I called back and asked the receptionist to transsfer my call to ICU as the ward dropped my call. She then said that it was not her etc etc. The more I explained that it was the ward the more annoyed she became. Eventually i reached ICU only to find out that my husban was suffering from extreme highh blood pressure , he was on oxygen , his sugar was extremely high and there was something wrong with his heart rate. Last night at seven I found out that he was in ICU since 10 that morning. My father in law checked and my name was on the file as emergency contact. I was not informed and if I had not contacted them I would not have known. I see this as negligence. <br>
