Formal Complaint Regarding Unacceptable Food Quality – Dalview Clinic

My grandmother has now been admitted to Dalview Clinic in Brakpan for eight days, and while I want to acknowledge that the doctors and nursing staff perform their duties professionally, the overall experience has been completely overshadowed by the appalling quality of food being provided to patients.

The situation is beyond unacceptable:

Meals delivered are almost never what was actually ordered. Food is consistently served cold. On multiple occasions, breakfast has consisted of stale leftovers from the previous night. Bread and sandwiches are burned to the point of being completely black and inedible. My grandmother has even kept some as proof because the condition is so shocking. The food is excessively peppered to the extent that it cannot be eaten, particularly the soup. When concerns are raised, nursing staff dismiss patients with remarks such as “eat it or stay hungry.” Fruit provided is often unripe and unsuitable for consumption.

The situation has deteriorated so severely that we are now forced to bring food from home just to ensure my grandmother is properly fed. This is entirely unacceptable for a facility of this nature.

What is even more concerning is that despite this unacceptable standard, invoices are still being submitted to the medical aid for meals that are clearly not fit for consumption.

In over 15 years of dealing with Dalview Clinic, we have never experienced such a drastic decline in service. This matter requires urgent attention and immediate corrective action.

I expect a formal response addressing these concerns and outlining how this issue will be resolved without delay.
