Fail to honor a refund promise Nr ***

Good morning,

I am writing to express my deep disappointment following a call to the Accounts Department, where I was informed that no refund is due to me because of an outstanding balance from 2024.

This news is both surprising and disheartening, especially as I had already budgeted the expected refund to buy a few essential items for my daughter ahead of the school term. While I hadn’t been counting on the refund initially, the assurance I received gave me hope — hope that has now unfortunately disrupted my plans.

In early January, I received an email indicating that I owed the hospital an amount. I immediately followed up with a call and was assured by a consultant that it was an error, as the medical aid had covered all expenses. I trusted that this matter was resolved.

As a reputable and leading healthcare group, Lifecare Hospitals should have systems in place to flag and correct such discrepancies well in advance. In this digital age, I would expect that such an error could have been identified and communicated more accurately and in a timely manner considering that you communicated to me twice un a month about this matter

I sincerely hope that due diligence will be app**** in future to prevent similar situations for other patients.
