Drip Connection Left in patient after discharge

I am absolutely appalled with the level of service upon discharging a patient. My father was discharged from Ward B today (14/10/2015) the nurses did not even bother to remove his drip connection. Few hours later he is still at home with his drip connection still stuck to him. I am completely appalled at the level of service given the fact that we entrust our loved one's care to staff members who seemingly are not through in the execution of their tasks.
