Dr DN Luthuli Parklands hospital treats me like a cadaver and they are happy to invoice.
Life Parklands hospital, terrible service. Firstly Dr DN Luthuli is horrible, he treats me like a cadaver. During inspection he chats to the nurse and gives me the patient no attention or answers. One day you're on this medication it changes no explanation, no explanation what tests are for that's Dr DN Luthuli. Had I not insisted on asking certain question he would have chatted to the nurse made his notes and left. He was rude, I'd prefer a different physician who is interested in patient care or a transfer, I'm not a cadaver. The nurses you ask for something like my drip dressing needs changing, yes they'll get someone to do it, it's still falling apart.
My money is not well spent, hence I'm complaining. Perhaps I should report this treatment to the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
The Hospital has been responsive. Yesterday 07/05/2023 I was seen by a different Physician Dr Reyneke, very through and he had his full attention on me as the patient during the consultation. He explained my medication and any changes he's making and why he's ordering certain blood tests etc... The appointed Physician Dr De Lange came this morning 08/ Again very professional fully focused on the patient all questions I had he answered with patience and in a manner I can understand. The nursing staff has been doing their best. Much appreciated
The bad
On the 06/05/2023, Dr DN Luthuli came, I told him the situation regarding my treatment is a mess, he then proceeded to shout at me in a monologue. When he finally finished I said let me tell my side of the story, he refused he said he not working with me anymore. Whilst walking away he said he's disappointed with me(take note at no stage or point in time where I imp**** or expressed I would impress him). Dr DN Luthuli needs to understand private medical care is expensive, Physicians are expensive. Patients have rights, to me his behaviour in regards to this incident has tarnished, what is otherwise a good institution.
