Cost of care

Sunday 6 of April my wife had light bleeding while she is in her 1st trimester of pregnancy.

We went to Fourways urgent care. Service was speedy and caring but they couldn’t help because they didn’t have an ultrasound. Still they made her urinate and they didn’t even share the results with us or Life Fourways. They referred us to Life Fourways hospital.

We arrived at Life Fourways at past 11am. Again urine test was taken and no results shared again. We were put in a room from 12pm to 14:30pm. The ER GP came and said they don’t have an ultra sound. They called a person from radiology and the woman shows up with her a mother around 14:45.

Meanwhile she had to continue to drink water to have her bladder full whole for this ultrasound and when she started complaining that she is uncomfortable and the pain of the full bladder.

The ultrasound was done. Waited another 45mins for the results just for a different GP to come and say it’s nothing and they are only now trying to get ahold of a gynaecologist. This GP returns within 10mins and says the gynaecologist at the hospital doesn’t see patients if you are not their patient. He writes a script that the pharmacist doesn’t even understands how the medicine should be taken.

This is now the second terrible experience at Life Fourways. The only thing that they are speedy about is opening a file and taking your vitals.

The ER doctors have no sense or concern for their patients. I am not sure what the purpose is of Fourways urgent care is and they don’t have an ultrasound and with no help provided they will still charge you.

It blows my mind how an ER can use the words it’s after hours that’s why they didn’t have an ultrasound available.

Definitely our last visit to this two healthcare providers.
