CLAIM STALE

My daughter was admitted 26/06/2017 at Life Eugene Marais Hospital. After receiving the worst service ever, today I received a statement from my medical service provider rejecting the claim due to the fact that the claim is stale???? Who has the responsibility of submitting the claims that are pre-authorised to the medical aid. Is it my work to do their job for them??? I received a bill of R11 000 and I will not be paying this due to their negligence or ignorance.
