Chatsmed Hospital....treatment is worse than a government hospital

This complaint is actually being written by Sumaiyah Thayab on behalf of my mum Mrs.Meronisha Thayab.

My mum was admitted into Chatsmed Hospital on Monday, 21.10.19 @ approximately 2pm for uncontrolled diabetes and a slipped disc.

When we went to visit my mum for the evening visits, she informed us that she (and the patient next to her) were denied a meal. when they had asked the lady who was doing the catering for the day about their meals, she informed them that there wasn't any food for them. She managed to s**** the bottom of the pot for rice and stew bones. Is this any kind of meal for a person who is paying a large amount to be using this facility, leave alone her being a diabetic. Upon hearing all of this, we were furious and requested for the nurse of duty to arrange a meal for my mum and the other patient. All well & good, they had brought them sandwiches & tea. However, the next morning the same tea lady had come to serve the breakfast and ignored my mum and did not take her lunch order insisting my mum gave her order to them yesterday which was not the case.

To add to the frustration, the doctor had prescribed medication for my mum on the night on Monday. Yes we do understand that the pharmacy is closed at night but when I spoke to my mum at 12pm on Tuesday she informed me that she was still in tremendous pain and she still had not received the medication. Due to this pain, the sugar levels were going upto 27/28 and remaining in that region. I called the G Ward and spoken with Sister Marimuthu who advised that she had sent the card to the pharmacy at 9am and she was still waiting for the meds. How fitting, only after I called her and threatened to write them up did my mum receive the medication.

The treatment which is offered to the patients at Chatsmed Hospital is purely pathetic and its sad to see that people are no longer fulfilling their oath to take care and help the ill but its more for the status and money.
