Bad treatment

Myself and my wife took our two year old son to the Emergency unit last night, we arrived at about 10:20 pm. My son Isaiah Bougaard’ s nose was badly congested and he was struggling to breathe while sleeping. The emergency room was busy and was left with only one doctor for the evening. Eventually, the doctor on duty attended to my son at 11:58 pm and he administered treatment with a nebulizer. My son’s treatment finished at 12:18 am, at about 1:19 am I requested a nurse to check the whereabouts of the doctor, as he left us in room 15 for a long period without checking up on our son’s progress. The doctor eventually came to attend to us at 1:40 am, I informed him that I am unhappy that he made us wait almost an hour and half. The doctor made no attempt to explain why he left us unattended for such a long period. Therefore, we can only assume that the doctor forgot about us. What if things took a turn for the worse? Where is the compassion for a toddler? The ordeal has left us horrified at the way our son’s case was handled. We reside in close proximity to the hospital and we will seek medical assistance elsewhere in future.
