The best hospital in the East Rand

What an exceptional experience!!!!! I went in for surgery on the 31 August 2024 and stayed the night. The hospital and ALL their staff members exceeded my expectations by miles. On arrival there was a representative to welcome me and offer assistance. The admission was seamless and quick. On arrival at the ward, my arrival was anticipated and I felt like a VIP. The ward and room is clean, and seems like it had undergone a revamp resently, everything was fresh and new. The capturing of info before the surgery was done with professionalism and efficiency. The porter who collected me for surgery was friendly and caring. The surgery bed was heated with warm air, an nice surprise. The waiting area outside for my parents was comfortable and relaxing. After the surgery the room is also heated, so no Post operation chills. The nurses are on another level, they are friendly, helpful and truly amazing. They make you feel like they are there for you and like they want to be there. They are constantly checking in and making sure you have everything you need. They are checking your vitals regularly. There is almost no notice in the ward. Nurses don't scream at each other from accross the room. The catering staff are checking in throughout your stay and provide you with ice water without asking. They even provided a meal to a lady that came out of surgery at 23:00. All the lights are turned off at night. The nurses are sitting at little desks in between rooms in the hallway, with a small light each. There is NO noice while you sleep, but a dedicated nurse is a bell ring away. The cleaning staff greet you on arrival or when you come into contact with them. The food was amazing, providing you with rusks, juice and yogurt on top of your menu selection. I honestly felt more like a hotel guest than a patient. Every staff member you encounter greets you, is friendly and is asking if you need help. I have to thank each and every person at the hospital for going beyond expectations and for your warm and caring attentiveness you guys are amazing. I unfortunately had to be admitted again for surgery at Netcare Linksfield and the exspierience was disappointing and way below expectations. I can compare the two hospital experiences as they were within 2 months of each other and The Glynnwood would be my preferred hospital in future. Keep up the good work and know that your establishment made a positive impact on me.
