Management competency questionable
I approached the mall over 4 years ago about a leasing space for a waterless car wash but I was informed that they give first preference to tenants which is understandable.<br> I was also informed that the negotiations with one of the tenants was at a final stage (that was 4 years ago) but after seeing that there were no developments I persisted and again and got the same answer. I made numerous efforts to arrange a meeting with management so that I could make them understand my business but to no success infact they refused to see me,I then went to the offices and asked for 5 minutes of their busy time and they refused to see me pointblank.January 2015, I called the centre again and explained my frustration to them, this time I was informed to speak to Michelle Brighton. I called & left messages for her and she finally called back and pretended to empathize with me and promised to respond to my email, 3 weeks later still no response from her. I was foolish enough to believe that LIBERTY cares about the community they do business in. I'm trying to understand how Liberty chooses centre management, competence, merit maybe but a lot is to be desired.
Dear Mr Ntanjanana,
Thank you for raising your concerns regarding your request for a leasing space for a waterless car wash at our shopping centre. We wish to confirm the situation which has been explained to you telephonically by both our Leasing team and our Centre Manager.
Over the past 4 years we have been and still are in negotiation with an existing tenant for a car wash offering. At this point the plans for the car wash have been passed by council and the next step is implementing and executing those plans. We wish to reiterate as communicated to you previously that at no point did we foresee that it would take this long to conclude this deal. There are lengthy procedures, vetting and inspections to be considered in order to ensure that the new tenant offering is the correct model for the business. The approval process and commencement of the lease is only started once all these variables are considered and all necessary approvals and permits are obtained.
Sincerely,
Liberty Promenade Centre Management
