Unhappy customer

Is it normal to charge R4500 to have Openserve install a fibre line? No new cable was run. Also they said they would supply a free to use router which means that they will supply you with a router that belongs to them (Really?). Either way, we never received it and there were no technicians from Level-7 on site to check the installation and that we are getting signal everywhere we need to. Apparently. If I want that, I have to pay even more. Been a customer for 8 years and since we moved house a month agao I have not been happy with the solution. My internet speed also sucks and I have a 500mb fibre line. Not Happy!

Hi Michael

We apologise for the inconvenience you are experiencing with your fibre line.

Regarding the installation fee, we offer two contract options to suit different needs:
  • A 12-month contract with free fibre installation and a free-to-use router.
  • A month-to-month contract with an upfront installation fee of R4500 and a free-to-use router.

Once your fibre line is installed by the fibre provider, Level-7 will send a pre-configured router that is ready to use.
Connectivity may vary in different areas of your home due to building structures or other factors, due to this we need to conduct a site survey to provide accurate advice and solutions to improve your Wi-Fi coverage. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

Regards Level-7

So how do you validate R4500? I have 2 routers I bought from you previously so your free to use router is not required. The very least I would have expected would be to have a technician from level-7 on site when the installation is done to see if we are happy with getting signal where we need it. So, over and above the R4500 (Which is part of the 12 month contract) I have to pay for the luxury of you making sure the placement of the WiFi router is in the optimal position. Sorry, but your explanation doesn't address everything I am unhappy about. Either way, I have paid for the site survey so you can do what was expected on the initial installation.
