Shouneeze @ Lenovo - appalling service

From Day One my Lenovo pc gave problems. It was sold to me by a good guy, and so each time - and it was no less than six times during the first year - he worked on it to sort it out. Thereafter it continued to intermittently give problems, normally a new one every six to eight weeks. It's now over two years since I bought it, and it still continually 'hangs'/ stalls, even with just one programme such as Word, open.

When I finally approached Lenovo's help desk in Johannesburg, having had enough of this, their IT guy, Bongani tried to help. When his intervention failed, he just gave up. No apology, no 'let me see what else can be done.' The help desk then said, 'despite all the trouble you have had, and your reasons for delaying reaching us, because it is now outside of the warranty, you have to pay to have it sent to Durban, and you have to pay for the repairs'.

Having had no luck in trying to explain the situation, I then tried eight more times to reach the help desk, their now just putting down the phone on me. Had I said one rude word, or made one unacceptable comment, I would understand this. But I didn't - I simply expressed the fact that I was very, very frustrated (it had after all been two years of intermittent but non-stop problems).

I left many messages for the Help Desk Supervisor, Shouneeze to call me back. More than anything else, I simply wanted to be heard. She never, however, had the courtesy to return the call. I found her lack of professionalism flabbergasting.

All I can say in conclusion is that no-one should ever buy a Lenovo, for not only do their machines perform abysmally, but their customer service simply doesn't exist. And no-one summed this up better than their help desk supervisor.

I remove the complaint. She never got the messages, and when I finally did get to speak to her, she helped me greatly. That said, the Jhb call centre were absolutely useless in terms of getting messages to her - at least six were left yet not one was given to her. But all resolved now.
