Lenovo i3 R10000 for nothing

I bought a brand new Lenovo i3 Laptop from Incredible Connection at the West Coast Mall, Vredenburg in April 2021.

Till this day, more than a year later. It is still a struggle to work with. Two weeks after the purchase, i took it back to the shop for a complaint. When i start up the machine, it takes forever to open up Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams etc. I bought it for the sole purpose of working on Excel, Word, MS Teams, and internet. Nothing else, no major software installations. Not even to mention the lagging when on Google Chrome. Everything is just super slow and freeze the whole time.

Now, to come back to my story of when i took it back after two weeks of purchase. The lady at the store told me the technician will be in the next day. Cool, go back the next day. He tells me that I need to check for any updates under settings>update and security>check for updates and let it run. I go back home, let it run. Cool. A week later I experience the same thing. Check for updates again. Again there are updates and I let it run. Since then, its a weekly occurence. For more than a year. It works fine for a day or 2, then suddenly there's a lag on everything i try to do. Go to settings and updates do the same thing the whole time. This is extremely frustrating as it *****s up my work momentum and the interruptions are costly. I can't take it back now. Over a year old. The shop will laugh at me. I even had the machine at the IT department of my wife's workplace. After a whole struggle and trying to find the solution, they tell me the best I can do is buy and install a SSD 2.5 500g or 1TB. Whatever that is. Not fami**** with computer jargon.

So I spent R10000 on Lenovo i3. Brand new. It never works properly for over a year. Now, i have to fork out more money for a SSD.

Poor product, poor performance. Poor retail outlets (incredible connection) that can't really fix the problem. I had to turn back to my old reliable HP machine of almost 10 years old which is 10x faster to get **** done every week. I am now fed up of this. I just want people out there to know about it, and be warned. Stay away from this product! R10000 and I received no value for money!

Thank you for nothing Lenovo. After reaching out to me, and collecting the Laptop from me to take in to see what's wrong with it and to fix it I receive a quote today to an amount of over R3000.

Nobody mentioned that I need to pay for anything. If the guy who phoned me first time told me that I would need to pay, I could have saved the courier a trip to collect it.

I never asked you to collect it. I never asked to repair or upgrade it. You reached out to me after I complained on this platform. I was sick and tired of struggling and the machine is still brand new.

I responded to the customer services email that I will be rejecting the quote. Please be clear about your intentions to the next person and make sure the customer understands. This is really frustrating as I need to phone for feedback. The lovely lady from Part Serve in Montagu Gardens tried her best to keep me updated but its out of her hands.

Please send my Laptop back. I will pack it away or throw it on the dump as it is utterly useless to me. R10000 down the drain. Probably have to purchase a new one, but the Lenovo Brand will never see me again.

Reaching out to me was totally useless.

Thanks for nothing.

Dear Enzo

We are very sorry to hear that you are still unhappy. We have checked with our partner, Part Serve, to understand where things might have gone wrong. It is our belief that your unit is now working fine and has passed all the diagnostics. However, as your unit is an entry level device you had requested for a quote to be able to upgrade it and this is what the quote was for.

Please let us know if you’re still interested in the upgrade, we will arrange for a technician to get in touch with you.

Kind regards.

Guys, no man come on. Don't bull**** me. I never requested a quote.

Keep in mind that Part Serve reached out to me. I NEVER asked them collect it. They offered to collect it. I DID NOT ASK for it to be fixed. They offered to fix it. So how can I have requested a quote?

Anyway, I'm done. I don't want anything from you guys. I now have to arrange for a courier myself to collect it. So that's what I'll do. And we'll just leave the bitter taste in service as it is. I was going to contact the Ombudsman as well but I do not have the energy and time for this anymore. So thank you for nothing. I'll buy a new one, but it will NEVER be Lenovo again.

Have a good day.
