UNSATISFACTORY AND POOR SERVICE

Dear Sir/Madam, TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN I would like to voice out my frustration towards the experience we had the past weekend as my Son was admitted to the facility My Son’s admission first took the whole day at the casualty, and eventually he was admitted to the ward which at first was a surgical ward that left us surprised if He were to go under the knife for something we were not updated off or advised off as his parents. We stood there as they prepared him with the relevant of the resources for the ward. Later on the day we around 19:00 we were then advised that he will be moved to ICU….no explanation was provided as to what was the reason to it and instead this left us frustrated and in panic since the Nurses also did not know the course of the move mind you, we were still in awe as to why the surgical ward in the first place. We then let it pass as we only focused to the wellness of our Son and stopped questioning since we did not get any answers but all questions referred to the specialist DR NGWATA who was the nominated specialist for him. Upon moving him to ICU we still did not get in contact with Dr Ngwata. He was prepared and we were let go that night with no explanation as to WHY the ICU though…my Son was in good condition and there was no sign of special needs to be examined at the ICU which also left us with questions but left it to the professionals which in the end we still did not get any satisfaction on it, on the next day Saturday the 20th of July we found him moved to a medical ward and again no explanation and no one bothered to do so other than Nurses referring us to the unknown DR. We spent the whole day on all visits with the hope that we will find answers but still nothing. On Sunday we did the same routine visiting him but still no summary or feedback from anyone until another Dr. came in advising she is standing on behalf of Dr Ngwata however she still did not have the answers we were looking for as she was biting on the bushes that left us wondering still. Last visit on Monday his Mother had again took a day off from work to visit him with the hope that at least one Parent should be available as the Nurses advised that the Kid is still under age and the Dr will call us for the medical summary but nothing like that has been done ever. Fortunately she was a bit happy when she bumps into the specialists who did not even care to update her but told her to reach out to the Nurses to call her…like what treatment is this…its really annoying how we were treated in this facility and we did not expect such experience from a so called Private Hospital.

There was a time my Son rang a bell as he wanted to go pee and it took the nurse 10min to attend to him so they can take the drips off from him to enable him to be free and attend to the loo. I don’t want to think of a worst case scenario if there was a serious emergency that he needed assistance on at the time what could have happened to him especially if we weren’t there. Which now makes sense why my Son insisted we take him home with on Sunday, he was crying none stop but we could not relate as to why he was acting like that other than thinking his just lonely and missing home. But to think of it now he was frustrated as we were and at some point we wanted him to get healed and did not notice that he was ill-treated. In all the above events I would like you to understand that the whole experience have left us in an immense frustrated position and panic. How do we then trust the Hospital and their staff if anything they have done to our Son was correct and helpful? We are the Parents and we deserve to know what was wrong with our Son and what was he diagnosed off to be admitted to ICU etc. How can you discharge a kid at night when there’s no feedback to his parents, dispensary is closed for his prescribed medication… I really am surprised how all this can happen to us… If anyone could please reach out and advise what really transpired to my Son’s medical report we would be happy.

Yours Sincerely Thokozani Nkosi (Mr.)
