Poor service from nurses at Lenmed eThekwini hospital & heart centre

I was admitted at Ethekwini hospital on the 18th June 2023, I had been vomiting , had a headache and a runny tummy since the 17th of June, blood tests were done and i was informed that i am dehydrated and they want to keep me overnight for treatment, which i agreed too.

I spent the night at medical ward on the morning the 18th June the nurse took readings for BP which were 90/50 and she did not tell me not to take my BP medication as it was already low, this was picked up by my treating Doctor K. Maharaj and he advised me not to take the medication, I should have been informed by the nurse who took the readings as this could have resulted negatively.

Later on the 20th June I had problem with the drip that was installed when i arrived at the hospital on the 18th, i assume it had some how dislodged because it was painful, i informed the nurse at medical ward and her response was that "It is normal when they put the antibiotic it does sting it will wear off", and she will adjust the machine, later i informed her that my drip was leaking as my blanket was wet, she indicated that there was no need to change the blanket as i was going to be moved, she only adjusted the drip.

I was moved to Cardiac ward 1, room B1 on the 20th June, when I arrived there I informed nurse of the pain i was feeling on my arm and she just adjusted the machine, later the drip was disconnected because i needed to go to the toilet, when I came back i fell asleep before the could reconnect the drip.

The next morning the nurse was introduced as my nurse for the day, when he inserted the drip i felt the same pain and I informed him, he gave me the same response as the nurse at the medical ward. The drip was only removed on Wednesday the 21st June at around 14:00 when my hand started to swell and the pains had aggravated.

I should have been discharged on Thursday 22 June because what I had been admitted for was treated but I had to stay in hospital for an additional four days to treat the swollen hand, this caused a great inconvenience in my life as I am unable to work due to the incompetence and ignorance of your nurses, I sell clothes for a leaving and have a bond and school fees, I am unable to drive to collect money from my clients due to the pain i'm still feeling.

To date my hand is still not fully functional.
