Lenmed Kathu

On 17 April 2023 my son went to Lenmed Kathu hospital for xrays and blood tests. Our GP sent us for tests because my son was really sick. The xrays reveals serious lung infection. He was admitted by Dr Motaung just after 12 that day. He did not get any help just the night at about 8. Dr Motaung only came the next morning to see my son. We are staying in Black Rock. 120 km from Kathu. So i can not be with him every day. He got an IV on 18 April. If he asked for something for pain they took 3 hours to help him of give him medicine. Dr Motaung did not explain really good what was wrong with him. He did a CT scan and on the scan they said my son has Pulmonary Fibrosis. But dr did not explain what we must do further. He did not want to explain to us. The Friday night 21 April I went to Kathu to the hospital to go and see dr. I asked the sister on duty to help me to phone dr Motaung to just explain to me what is going on with my son or how do we handle everything. I also asked for a 2nd opinion. Then dr Motaung told the sister that he will not talk to me and he refuse to help Jaco anymore. I was in tears because we are just worried parents and Jaco was scared and really sick and did not get well. The sister called the Matrone and she calmed me down and helped us to get Jaco transfered to Kimberley. We took him ourselfs ons Saterday 22 April to Kimberley. Dr Motaung told us we MUST sighn a RTH vorm. We did not refuse dr Motaung 's help. We only want a 2nd opinion and he handled us like ****. We went to Lenmed Royal Kimberley. We are scared to go back to Kathu Lenmed. Will you please look into our case and let me know what is going to be the next step. Thank you very much. Simoné de Kock
