Lenmed *********** staff

My recent experience when I was admitted to Lenmed now called Ahmed Kathrada Private hospital can only be described as gross negligence from the staff employed at this facility. I was admitted on the 8th February 2022 and was seen by the physician Dr. Bhula as my CRP markers were above normal with a severe gastroenteritis infection. I had a drip inserted into my left arm and admitted into the Surgical ICU unit. I complained the hand that the drip was inserted in was very sore and on each request made to the nurses who were placed for my care, my request was met with a response that the pain was normal, or it was the medication that was causing the pain. I couldn’t bear the pain any longer and instructed the night nurse on duty to remove the drip completely. The next morning my physician was notified, and he was infuriated at the incompetence of the hospital staff as I had now developed a severe Phelbitis in my left arm, which is an inflammation and infection of the veins in my left arm. My gastroenteritis was under control but the pain in my left arms veins was excruciating from the Phlebitis. I was placed on 600mg Clindamycin to treat the Phlebitis and I was in extreme discomfort. I had to stay a further 4 days extra in hospital just because of the negligence of the staff at Ahmed Kathrada Private hospital. To add insult to injury when I was then transferred to the medical ward 2, the antibiotic was short supp**** to me the one evening and someone elses tablets were give to me. The patient who was in the same room as mine complained of the same incompetence. I will not be using or recommending this hospital as I seriously question the competency of staff at this facility.
