Charged for procedure not performed

<p>On the 24th August 2017 I took my mother to casualty at Lenmed Zamokuhle (Auth. R17884 - Ndaba ) as a private patient. She was seen by a doctor who took her blood pressure and then advised that it was very high and she would need to be admitted, but before that as she was a cash patient we needed to pay R90,000 up front before anything could be done to her. She also needed MRI/CT Scan which I paid cash for. We then had to wait as we were getting qoutations from other hospitals and eventually we paid in the R90,000 and she was admitted. I then paid R1000.00 for casualty at the reception as no other procedure was done by the doctor except the blood pressure test.</p> <p>Months later i received a call from their accounts department telling me that i owe the hospital R1500 for the ECG procedure done to my mother and i told them that i was there with her and that except for the blood pressure test no other procedure was done but their accounts department told me that i should just pay the money even though they cannot provide any proof to me of that procedure and even my mother confirms that the procedure was not done.</p> <p>That account has now been handed over to their attorneys and it's not acceptable that i should be paying for a procedure that they never performed. I was there, and they also cannot provide any proof except that someone wrote it on the file. This is a rip-off.</p>
