I had a very disappointing experience with Legends Removal Company
I had a very disappointing experience with Legends Removal Company. Firstly, they arrived over an hour late, and I had to call them myself just to find out where they were. Once they arrived, the move took far longer than it should have — everything was extremely slow and disorganized. What shocked me the most was that the driver appeared to be drunk — he smelled strongly of alcohol and was clearly not in a fit state to be working, let alone driving. During the move, my TV was broken, and when I reported it, the response I got was, “To be honest, it should have been in a box.” That kind of attitude is completely unacceptable. To be fair, the staff were friendly, but that doesn’t make up for the lack of professionalism, delays, and damage to my belongings. I would not recommend using this company.
We are terribly sorry for the damage to your one tv. 1 item of well over 300 pieces got damaged and this one item costs about R15000 or more and it could have been protected with a cost of R450.00.
We quoted on doing this service and invoiced for it. So it would have been protected. You later decided to tell me you will take care of all wrapping and i should remove this service from the invoice and not provide it. So a R450 recommended service is refused by you. All risk insurance is refused by you. Accidents can happen and we strive our outmost to prevent damages but at some point our responsibility end and yours should start. We did offer to contribute towards this loss as per the contract set out and agreed to by both parties before the move took place. Now afterwards when a very expensive item out of several 100 items got damaged its all on us.
So on the day, my staff still warned you that certain items should be wrapped and they did wrap items free of charge to protect it with special wrapping material that we had spare on the truck and then still blanket wrapped it. That special wrapping was done free of charge as our commitment to try our best. That did not get mentioned in your review or in your star rating.
The relief driver did smell like alcohol and was taking strain from the day before as he was not meant to work that day because the dedicated driver was unable to work. These were internal, unplanned matters which cost an hour and we do apologize for that. This was dealt with but we can assure you that the driver was definitely not drunk as we would not have allowed him to drive our vehicles if he was.
According to the GPS the truck stood there for a little longer than usual for your size load but that could have been from the free wrapping service the staff provided.
I would like to apologize for the negative experience and we do want to Move People in a positive way.
Kind Regards
