Shocking Service for 5 Star Windhoek County Hotel
During my recent stay at Windhoek County Club, I had the misfortune of extremely poor room standards compounded be general apathy by hotel management. When I checked into my room, I discovered the airconditioner leaking water onto the carpet. The shower didnt work with large cracks and a hole in the tiles. Carpets in the room were filthy as well. I had dinner on the patio and had sent the chicken fillet back as it was dry and tough. In the morning I dicsussed the problems with deputy GM (Raymond Kodisang) who assured me that he would resolve the issues and contact me during the course of the day. I took the liberty of sending him an email with photos that morning but never heard from him until he responded at 19h30 that evening in an email. Mr Boucher in the interim sent an email to my PA apologising and requested we inform him of when I return so as he could ensure that the issues dont re-occur (I was still staying in the hotel)? That evening I returned to my room and an ice bucket had been put under the leaking aircon. The shower worked that evening but in the morning was non-operational once again. Mr Boucher did meet with me at breakfast and apologised but I will not return!
Dear Mr White,
I appreciate you taking the time meet with me personally and inform me about your frustrations during your stay here and would you once again accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused to you.
We take pride in offering the best service possible at the Windhoek Country Club Resort and Casino, and as discussed with you during our meeting, steps have been taken to rectify all the problems. Mr Kodisang did offer to upgrade you to a suite, unfortunately it was too late and you declined.
Please be advised that we are in the process of embarking on a rooms refurbishment programme with the aim of improving our current standards.
I look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
Thank you for your valued patronage.
