Uphill battle to get a refund on a claim
Trying to get a refund on a claim we paid for, uphill battle. They have requested amended claims numerous times and each time we get one they reject it over and over with no resoultion.

Poor disgusting service
Good day, I’m writing this review with lots of frustrations. I went to AL health in Doris End Road Johannesburg, to add my daughter on my medical aid Karabo Ngwingoane. I spoke to a guys by the name of Zukhanye Moso who he promised me to add her and said she will be covered from 1 of August 2026. My daughter was sick and still sick last weekend I went to Dr where they confirmed my daughter is not covered under Mr Lucia Phuti Moichela who’s the primary member of the aid. He then confronted the guys above who was soo unprofessional and couldn’t even give me clear indication of why my daughter is not on the aid. Please not this medical is not for free as my husband is paying for it. We anticipate full service as paying clients. Kindly assist with solving the issue as my daughter’s life is at risk. Your response will be appreciated urgently call me on *** Thanks cal

I have been with them and paying monthly without fail
I have been with them and paying monthly without fail. I have been sick since 2003 and they have the records, they are chasing me out of the hospital in this cold weather they say they are not convinced I am sick. Yet they can see I see Doctors more often due to this critical illness. I am stranded and I was last admitted in 2022 for birth yet they feel like sleeping in hospital is luxury

I have been with them and paying monthly without fail. I have been sick since 2003 and they have the records, they are chasing me out of the hospital in this cold weather they say they are not convinced I am sick. LA health shortfall
Am so disappointed with LA Health, today they left me in a huge debts that is giving me sleepless nights. They did not pay doctors after I was so sick and admitted at the hospital. They chose to pay doctors less than 50% of what the were claiming. Now am I'm in debts that I never planned for yet they wrote me a letter that state they will pay 90% but at last they never met their promise not even close by. This type of treatment is like I invited the illness in my life now I must see to finish. I trusted discovery but today am so disappointed. After I pay +-R3700 per month and which is my 40% contribution and my employer 60%. Am not a person who is always sick going hospital but they treated me like am always going to hospital. Since am with them its a first time am being admitted and it was for a very serious issue. Yo now am not sure if I will recover after after all this stress in their economy. Never be fooled that medical aid is non profit organization, those people are pure capitalist. All they want is profits. Am sitting here thinking where will I get money from to pay the shortfall that is above R20 000 because at this time we earning from hand to mouth. I saw myself burst into tears because I still owe my child university. At this moment am hoping for God's miracle.

Mental health days not enough
On the 11th of May 2026, I was admitted I to durdoc Pysch. This was my first time. I knew that mental health was 21 days. I stayed for 10 day and would have 11 days. I was told now that it is intertwined with the 15 pyschologist consults. I used 7 outpatient consulting not knowing how this works. I have never used this in the 15 years in on medical aid. I am dealing with immense stress , domestic violencegbv, assault and attempted ****, as my husband brought in a black male to **** me. I need alot more days hospital. I am barely making it. My 14 year old took a over on the 2nd of May. My 9 year is autistic. Please we pay for a good medical aid and don't use All the benefits. I'm sure 21 will heal me to be a good and stable mother. As my husband is a alcoholic and has untreated bipolar. My kids have been traumatized.

LA Health - 2nd complaint 8.5% increase-less than 50% payout
Fell on arm. LA Health covered R5000 odd and R6000 that I must pay in. Did nothing for me as yet. X-ray and MRI scan. Thinking of canceling last appointment for a final x-ray. More to pay. They can't straighten the arm anyway. Why go. Let NHI come quickly maybe. A good thing. A *****ed arm. So what. Can still use to support. Right handed. I am okay
