Please be careful of such Funeral policy, this people are ****mers I have lost R30 000 due to everytime you call office the line is not working it will just say AI voice messages.Their WhatsApp Number no one is paying attention to it. Something is not right with this company and people continue paying without a knowledge of they will not get assistance in times of crisis. I have decided to stop contributing as I foresee problems. They are silent ****mers and very much professionally.

I am 76-year-old regarding the unacceptable delay in the payment of a funeral benefit claim by Kunene. My sister, passed away on 15 July 2026. The required claim documentation was submitted shortly thereafter. On 20 July 2026, we were advised that additional documents were needed before the claim could be processed. These outstanding documents were provided on 21 July 2026, and we were subsequently informed that payment would reflect within 48 hours. Unfortunately, it is now well beyond that timeframe, and no payment has been received. Despite numerous enquiries, I have not been provided with a clear explanation for the delay or an expected payment date. As a direct result of this delay, I was forced to borrow money from loan sharks to cover the funeral expenses and ensure that my sister could be laid to rest on 25 July 2026. This has placed me under immense emotional distress and financial pressure during an already difficult time. The loan now needs to be repaid urgently, and there are still funeral-related expenses outstanding. Given my age and circumstances, I believe this situation warrants immediate attention. I have been a loyal, premium-paying customer for many years and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. I find the ongoing delay, coupled with the lack of communication and transparency regarding the status of the claim, both unfair and unreasonable. I therefore requesting Kunene's urgent intervention to: Finalise and pay the funeral benefit claim without further delay. Provide a clear explanation for the delay. Confirm a definite payment date. We hope that by raising this matter publicly, it will receive the urgent attention it deserves and spare me any further financial hardship and emotional distress. Ms Adelaide Omarjee Concerned claimant and long-standing customer.

Two weeks later since my complaint has reached the quality assurance dept and we are still at the very place we started, that being nowhere. Claim still sitting somewhere on consultant's desk and settlement still not processed as they assured they would exactly 2 weeks ago. Shes no longer on leave or lunch but seemingly the work is, so in short the Risk in their risk solutions is definitely at your own risk

Possibly the worst claim experience i have ever had, have a claim registered 6 months ago and the claims consultant assigned to it over a month ago ignores emails, does not respond to calls, and also dozens of messages which the receptionist confirms were given to her. She processed half my claim after various attempts of reaching her, and has been awol since. Attempts to reach out for someone else to assist are also impossible because the phone rings until it cuts off or goes to voice message system, absolutely horrible service
