Kreepy warranty worth nothing???

I purchased a Kreepy Krauly Dominator from Makro Silver Lakes on 18 July 2017. This unit has a 2-year warranty. Two weeks, I booked the unit in for repair under warranty, as the gears had worn down to the extent that the machine could not work properly. The Kreepy agent refuses to honour the warranty. He sent a mail indicating that "if a Dominator starts showing issues within the 2 year Limited Warranty, then this is usually a setup on the Swimming Pool Cleaner or Swimming Pool that has not been done correctly as per the manual."

However, there is no evidence provided that my machine was not setup correctly. In fact, "******" from Kreepy sent a technician to my house in 2017 to check my installation, as the kreepy cannot work properly in a tiled pool. Also, these gears are manufactured from a nylon substance, using fairly loose tolerances. In addition, the unit changes between forward and reverse gear about once per minute, but there is no synchronous mechanism on the gears.

In hind-sight, this machine is poorly designed and I should never have bought it. That as it may, they now want me to pay more than R1000 to fix a unit that cost only R1620, even though it is still under warranty. Kreepy
