Replacemnet under warranty.

I bought an alternator from said company in December 2015. The company went the extra mile to find an alternator for 2000 Ford Falcon. The unit was installed by a qualified mechanic. All of a sudden the cars battery keeps on running flat. It need to be recharged to able to start the car. The battery was replaced as it was old and could be the problem. Same symptoms exist. The anti high jack system was disconnected as it could have the problem. An auto-electrician then Analise the problem being the alternator. It was leaking electricity. Unit was removed and returned to company in the first week in January. They then forwarded the unit to their supplier for evaluation. Since then, it is more than a month now, the second party keep on asking for more information e.g. VIN , mileage etc. I can not understand what this has to do with the claim. The unit is covered by consumers act for at least three months and the unit basically failed on installation.
