An insider's perspective.

To be very clear, and upfront from the beginning - this is an institution that I work at. So use that as the context for what comes next. The role I play is as both a Grade 10 - 12 History teacher and the Head of Academics for the phase. I am incredibly satisfied in this role and have no plans of going anywhere in the near future. Koa is giving me the opportunity to be the best History teacher I can possibly be. I am able to utilise both primary and secondary sources in a way to supplement learning that I had never dreamed of. I firmly believe that I am a more effective history teacher for being online. Then as a Head of Academics I am involved in helping to pioneer the future of what online learning looks like in South African Education. That is a privilege and responsibility that I take very seriously indeed. Being able to work from home was not a reality that I had ever dreamed of in a pre-COVID 19 world. The work life balance that Koa has allowed me to achieve means that I am prepared to to a lot to ensure that the institution is successful and achieves the goal of being one of the leading examples of successful education in the online world.
