Utter disgusting service!
I have been on mission to promote the "adopt, don't shop" attitude for quite some time now. I have spent time convincing my boyfriend that his next dog MUST definitely be adopted. We have been doing some research for some time now. We saw a little multese poodle up for adoption during the week on facebook and thought it would be awesome to give this little boy a happy home and to be part of our family. We went to Kitty and Puppy Haven to go see him, however unfortunately we were too late and he had already been adopted.
One of the ladies assisted us with an application form which we filled out. My boyfriend was then served by a woman called Debra. What an unbelievably rude woman! She went off at my boyfriend because his current dogs are not fixed, bearing in mind that the adoption form asks you if you'd be willing to get the dog fixed or not (it's considered an option clearly on the form).
Debra, then aggressively spoke to my boyfriend telling him why he should get his dogs fixed, instead of educating him as to why he should consider the process - he is not against it at all and was looking for some guidance on the topic.
We have both had dogs our whole lives. We give them happy, loving homes and they are a very special part of our families. We've had puppies that have had to be at home during the day while we were at work or school - as I'm sure many people have done. Debra then proceeded to tell us that we weren't allowed to adopt a dog younger than 6 months unless we were at home full time.
We walked out of there feeling like we had done something wrong. We started the day so excited to start this adoption journey but we have left heavy hearted and extremely disheartened. It's people like this who make you dont want to adopt.
