Worst Claim Process
It is all fun and games when you pay your monthly premium with King Price Insurance until you need to claim. On the 25th of September 2021 I was involved in a car accident somewhere in the Free State and it has been a month now since our claim process has been placed on “Pending” status. To make it worse, our vehicle is still in Harrismith where it was towed to after the accident and no clear communication from the insurance has been made.
Over the past month only, we had to hire a vehicle which costed us R12500 and yet here we are entering the second month without our vehicle or any good news from the insurance. I asked last week how long the vehicle will take roughly to be repaired and the assessor told me that he doesn’t know.
We have sent multiple emails to the insurance (including the assessor) with regards to the assessment details and most of questions we raised were not attended to by the insurance, but they were quick enough to call my friends to ask them about my whereabouts of the day of the incident… What is next? Are they going to ask for my ******** background checks?
I can confirm (from our experience and reviews that I see related to the insurance) indeed that King Price Insurance is the worst insurance to have. As much as they claim to be the cheapest insurance, it is also true that you get what you pay for.
Claim Number: CKP***/1
- How long do we need to hire vehicles for?
- How long do we have/need to wait before we receive our vehicle back?
- Does the insurance even care about their clients’ needs?
- How long does the insurance take before they finalise their claim process?
- Why does King Price rate itself so high when it provides the ****piest service?
- Does King Price take into consideration that we are literally unable to perform our day-to-day duties without our vehicle (which is costing us very much)?
- When will our vehicle be moved from the storage unit (in Harrismith - Free State) to the panel-beater (in Gauteng)?
- How reliable is the assessment report we received? Because upon asking the assessor he told me, and I quote "it is not the client's business to be concerned about cost of damages"
King Price Insurance does indeed deserve an Oscars Award for the ****piest service amongst all insurances.

We have been illtreated by the insurance (King Price Insurance) multiple times, the insurance has failed to keep up with its promises, and further we have even been **** to and had to spend Christmas day without family.
For 3 months now we have and are paying for an non-existent vehicle, we are emotionally abused, and we constantly pop out unexpected money on rental.
I appreciate the effort Amanda has tried but besides of her assistance I do not think anyone else in the companies does care about customer's needs... We were provided with a rental vehicle for the past two months but we have had to return it back to Europcar and upon arriving there on Christmas day we were informed that no renewal or new hire was organised for us by the insurance although on the very same day and the previous day the insurance had promised us that there would be one.
We literally had to wait at the Airport from 06:00am until after 02:00pm without anything but lies from King Price Insurance. We called, and called, and called until we were informed at 2pm that claims department was then closed (at 1pm) and we'd have to wait until Tuesday.
We had to make an alternative plan and hire another vehicle out of our pockets and yet we will still be expected by the insurance to pay another deposit for the rental (when the insurance feels like it)...
We don't know at this point if King Price is taking us for a ride, or rather for fools.
We will NEVER recommend this Insurance to anyone... not even our worst enemy.
It is all fun and games when we pay, but it cuts deep when it is time to claim.
Sure get a family off a Ford Ranger Wildtrak and put them in a Renault Kwid and expect them to smile and worship you... Take the very same family off the same (unsafe) Kwid and leave them looking like fools in the Airport on Christmas day and yet still expect them to smile.
As much as King Price Insurance prides itself to be the cheapest Insurance, I have learnt nothing but the fact that Cheap is not always so Good

1. Going into conversations that we had with the assessor (I can forward them to you), we raised to the team that on Page 25 of 35 of the assessment report, there are two images that reflect a broken tail light and according to Werner Du Toit (your assessor), he state stated; and I quote "The rear bumper was quoted to be replaced, however the tail light has a scuff mark not a crack which can be polished out. However, the vehicle will be re-assessed once at the repairer and any unseen accident related damages will be discussed and added". But to our surprise today when we arrived at the panelbeaters no authorisation was given to 959 autobody to repair this tail light. What Werner had quoted as a "scuff mark not a crack" is definitely a crack... Upon contacting one of your employees that I could not get by name, he insisted that this was not part of the accident damage and told us about how he has great years of experience in these things but was as a matter of fact he is wrong as proven and displayed in Page 25 of 35 (image 1 and 2) of YOUR assessment.
After a dispute with this discourteous man, he did not even for a second apologised directly to us for his disgusting attitude and/or treatment. What does this say about 4 values of King Price Insurance when your own management cannot adhere to the King Price Insurance promises? Am I the one (as a client) who is supposed to remind you of your promises upon signing your contracts?
2. We had also raised Point 5.4 from the email communication that from Page 18/20/25 of 35 and image 2 on Page 22 of 35 of the assessment, there seemed to be a misalignment space between the bed of the vehicle and the cab itself. It was again said by Werner Du Toit (your assessor), and I quote "Alignment has been allowed. However if needed larger repair will be given.". It was to our surprise today when we inspected the vehicle and found that there is still a misalignment between the vehicle cab and its bed. Upon inspection on the right hand side of the vehicle, I was able to fit my hand into the gap while on the other side (left hand side of the vehicle) I could only fit my fingers. Why was this not repaired or catered for? This definitely compromises the value of my vehicle.
3. There is a missing component that was not covered by the insurance which is the bonnet protector. However, upon taking the insurance we were given the impression that all extras of the vehicle would be covered. What does this mean now? Does it mean as the customer I need to scoop our R1000 from my pocket and purchase a component that you are not willing to cover? So much for delivery.
