Windscreen Fitment – Poor Workmanship, Unprofessional Conduct, and Safety Concerns Ignored

We submitted a claim through King Price for a windscreen replacement. One of their appointed service providers (via DSG) coordinated the job, and communication was conducted via WhatsApp by a lady managing the fitment.

Two of her technicians arrived at our private residence to fit the new glass. As they were finishing up—having already removed the old windscreen—my husband inspected the work and immediately flagged multiple issues: • Visible scuff marks on the new windscreen • Old silicone from the previous fitment had not been properly removed • The glue job around the sensor was messy and haphazard, completely ruining the look and finishing of the high end vehicle

Rather than acknowledging the concerns or offering to rectify the issues, the technicians became defensive, stating that they “knew how to do their job” and that “the old silicone didn’t need to be removed” and that it would take 2 days to fully remove the silicon.

Additionally, they casually stated that we could just claim for a new sensor via insurance, even though the sensor was working perfectly prior to the installation.

As my husband remained firm in his feedback, the exchange quickly escalated. My husband asked them to leave the property, citing a lack of confidence in their workmanship. The fitters refused to leave unless the documentation was signed. My husband, already frustrated, demanded they exit the property.

Following this, we contacted the lady to report the workmanship and request a post installation check. She delayed the visit for over a week, citing personal emergencies via WhatsApp. While we sympathize with her situation, the lack of any professional handover or support in the meantime was frustrating.

She eventually arrived 10 days later for a post-installation inspection. During the visit: • She acknowledged the poor glue job around the sensor and agreed it needed to be redone • She could not provide any installation procedure documents and checklists, as we had requested • She committed to contacting King Price and DSG to arrange for a different service provider as she did not have the documents we requested We have not received any feedback from her despite her having said that she would be in contact on Monday.

Further more, we found out that the fitters *******ly recording us and our private residential property. She even stated that her fitters said that there were security cameras on our property and knew the locations of these. This raises concerns of security.

Since then, we’ve been stuck in limbo. The focus of King Price now appears to be on my husband’s alleged “aggression”, rather than the actual problem: shoddy workmanship, a potentially compromised sensor, and ongoing safety risks. We’ve yet to receive a real solution. Meanwhile, our vehicle has been standing idle for over two weeks.

We are deeply disappointed. We expect that a brand like King Price would prioritize customer safety, service quality, and professional resolution. Instead, we are left chasing answers, with the entire situation being mishandled and downplayed.

At this point, we are seriously considering cancelling our policy with King Price.
