Wihan Geers Harassment and Threats

I was harassed and threatened by Wihan Geers of King Price Insurance. I had taken car insurance policy with the company yesterday and then after receiving a better quote from ABSA I emailed Thato Malele (who was very polite) and asked her to cancel the policy. She then forwarded my requested over to their Retentions Department. Another lady contacted me this morning in order to welcome me to King Price Insurance and I told her that I actually mailed to cancel the policy. She then transferred me over to Wihan Geers. I asked him politely to cancel the policy and I had received a better quote from ABSA. He then went on to ask about the policy with ABSA even telling me that he worked for them and basically their policy is in a nut shell "false". I told him it is fine, he must still cancel the policy I took with Thato. He did not want to process the cancellation. I asked him over 10 times to cancel as I do not want to their policy anymore. He kept provoking me by forcing me to listen to him, even though I repeatedly told him that I do not want to listen to him I just want the policy to be cancelled. He kept on lying, saying I did not tell him the reason for me cancelling the policy and I had repeatedly told him that I got a better premium with my bank (he was playing dumb deliberately, and wasting my time in the process). I lost my patience (to the point that dropped the F Bomb) with his attitude towards me. He even threatened me saying he will send this recording to some Insurance company body which will prevent me from ever taking any insurance policies with future companies within South Africa (so basically I will be blacklisted from Insurance). This argument went on for quite some time even my colleagues were disgusted by this behavior from King Price Insurance staff member.

I then asked to speak to his manager and his manager told me that he was simply doing his job (so harassing clients and threatening clients is part the insurance advisors job).

I will never take up any insurance with King Price Insurance as clearly this type of abuse is condoned. Consumers must be wary of taking anything up with this company.
