victimised by insurance

I submited a claim for my car which got into a hit and run accident while my husband was driving, and the assessor assigned to this claim, Breyten Janse Van Vuuren, has been rather harrassing to say the least. He has received a consistent report on different days from various sources yet still seems unsastified. His interrogation has left us feeling like ********* when my husband was the victim in this accident. We have given consent for him to get the necessary proof for our claim and provided the AR number to the insurance yet he insists that we need to go get a copy of the AR from the police station ourselves and a copy of my husband's bank statement for a purchase which was not swiped off his card. I thought insurers work with the police to get these reports??

His probing includes him asking my husband why he didn't react in a certain way (which would suit him) after he was hit from behind. This led to my infuriated husband telling him to decline the claim and for us to take it up with the Ombudsmen because it seems as though he is looking for a reason not to approve it.

The longest I've had to wait for a claim to be processed with your competitors was 3 days with exceptional service. I know I took out insurance for peace of mind not to be victimised when I have to put a claim through. If this is the ROYAL service that King Price prides themselves in then I certainly do not want it!

Good day Masenamelak,

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond. Charl Victor from our office has been in contact with you telephonically. We apologize if you feel that you have been treated like a ******** but as explained by Charl from our office that there is certain procedures that needs to be followed. Like we have both agreed is that there was a miss - communication about how the incidents happened and the events there after.

During the validation of the claim it came to light that someone else drove the vehicle when the 3rd incident happened and that we needed to validate the details of this driver. After numerous attempts to trace the other party which drove from the accident scene we were unable to trace this other party which is important for any future possible liability claims.

Pertaining the collecting of the accident report in some circumstances we would request our clients to assist us in obtaining this as this will speed up the process. Our apologies for the delay on your claim but taking the circumstances in consideration that the other party drove off the validation took longer than expected.

Should you require any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact.

Royal regards

The kings court

Thanks for the call.

As discussed it is the manner in which your subordinate conducted this investigation which led to him not wanting to hear out anybody else (including speaking over people) which led to him not being able to relay the actual number of incidents nor their occurence-which you confirmed to be 2 and not 3.

You also explained that the camera which you re**** on was not working on that day but the security guards confirmed that a bakkie was seen. Breyten once again misinterprented this to us, saying our car and the bakkie were not picked up at all, which again insinuates that the report we gave was a lie.

You also gave me a turnaround time of Mon 30 May to give feedback on the claim. I still haven't received any communication regarding this...

I can't believe I'm still on this issue. Received a call from Megan on 1 Jun regarding the write off of the vehicle saying I'll get feedback in 48 hours on next steps which I didn't get. I followed up via email on 8 Jun still no response. WHAT IS GOING ON??

Your customer service is non-existent!!
