VERY unhappy with King Price Insurance

So this past Friday an unfortunate event took place that left myself and a few other people without our phones and car keys. I called King Price to alert them of the loss of my keys and the lady I spoke to said this to me "Get a quotation for the replacement of the keys. If the quote is above R4500 then your excess will be R4500, but if the quote is below R4500 then YOU WILL NOT PAY ANYTHING". So I went ahead and sourced a quotation as instructed. I then emailed the quote only to be told the because the quote is below R4500, they will unfortunately not be able to continue with the claim.

So, why did was I told that I would not pay anything should the quote be less than R4500? Since your calls are recorded, please go listen to the calls I made using the number ***. I was told I would not pay should the quote be less than R4500 and now I receive an email telling me the complete opposite.

I have been paying over R1000 for about 3 years now and now that I need to make a claim, this is what I am told. Typical! What is funny is that I once received a call from a woman selling insurance from another company and she told me that she used to work for King Price and told me that the day I make a claim I would be told stories. I refused to listen to her and stayed - Lo and behold.

So perhaps the person who stole my cars keys should drive away with the car so I can pay that R4500 and you then replace my car instead of the key you are saying you won't replace? :-)

I did not expect this from you at all. I am REALLY disappointed with King Price.

Also, I lodged a claim for a phone and a tablet with Naked Insurance and guess what, those claims are completed. My younger sister who was with me at the time of the incident also insured with Naked insurance made a claim and it is completed. Three claims completed without ANY issues whatsoever. I have my wife's phone insured with King Price even that is not concluded.

Based on THIS experience, I would definitely NOT recommend King Price Insurance, but would DEFINITELY recommend Naked Insurance. I am 95% sure that I will be moving my car insurance from King Price to Naked Insurance. This is really not the kind of experience you want (after such a traumatic experience) from an insurer you have been paying for years without any problems.

Please replace my car key and please expedite my phone claim. This is essential to my wife's work.
