Unreasonable claim rejection, bad follow up
My wife scratched my car coming out the garage. It's minor and I sought to pay for it myself and got quotes over a few weeks. It ended up being R5000 , more than I expected so I claimed. Forgot about the 30 day clause to notify king price and missed it by a few weeks. So according to their policy they rejected my claim. I pay every premium and am a low risk, I WAS covered and you would think a company might extend a bit of grace and give me the benefit of the doubt. I emailed claims and the response is, totally understand but they cannot help me. So I respond and say, who can then? There must be somebody who can look at this holistically and make another decision? No response. So I follow up again. No response. I just want someone with a little more power in the company to respond regardless of the out come. Finally, for and extra R200 /month I used to be with Outsuranse whose policy is specially structured to look for reasons to pay out , not to look for reasons not to. Which is exactly what King Price has done. I'm still waiting for a response. Ill try once more and then I will leave King Price and go back to a company that never rejected a claim of mine for 11 years. Worth the slightest higher premium? For peace of mind , I think so.
