Unjustified increase in Premiums without consent

I have a car and additional insurance with king price for over a year since 2017, to my surprise, the marketing is that the prices go down and never escalate. I received an email from kingprice indicating an annual increase of +-R400 per month on my premium bearing in mind, the benefits are not going up and my car depreciates, I mean how do I pay more when the value of my car is going down and they have not increased the benefit/cover to reflect increase in benefits in line with their expensive monthly premium. To make matters worse, in November late I fell ill, and December I was in the hospital, therefore I could not query this outrageous increase. My cover is canceled now, driving at risk because of this increase I did not consent for. This is wrong, and King price, I want my insurance policy to be reinstated and that I pay the price I was paying before the suggested the increase, it's ******* and wrong what KingPrice is doing to customers, I mean how do I pay more for a car whose value depreciates or goes down. This marketing is deceiving customers in believing that prices go down, only to find that they are sneaked back in and put as an annual increase. I will be taking this further if Kingprice does not reinstate my insurance immediately, waive the months not paid because its their fault, I can continue with the monthly premium before the increase end of February 2019. I will be sending my complaint to the consumer protection ombudsman and other bodies within the financial sector. This is wrong anf probably ******* and expoits customers. I want answers ASAP. I am so angr and disappointed with Kingprice, they sold me lies.

Here's the thing, like all insurers, we too need to implement policy rerates to keep up the rising costs of parts , labour rates, inflation etc.... Which even we can't ignore!

These costs aren't linked to the value of your car, which as you know, depreciates monthly.  And unlike other insurers, King Price takes this into account and DECREASES your comprehensive car insurance premium every month.

We note that your policy was cancelled due to non payment of premium, we have requested our retention's department urgently contact you to discuss.

The decrease is R8.45 per month way to lower than the proposed annual increase, its a **** quite frankly.. I will be logging a complaint officially with the ombudsman and i will even get to courts to make sure this matter is addressed accordingly. I wil even take you Television shows and social media, which will affect the reputation of the company negatively. I will not be silent at all, i know my rights well.
