Unfair Business Practice!!!

I was with King Price for just under a year. The Service was great and I had no problems. Long story short I bumped my car and it needed repairs. The damage was minimul however i had a R50 000.00 vehicle wrap that needed to be completley re-done as the wrap no longer was available. The claim process was quick and I was paid out duely. Fast forward a few months, and it is not time for my anual renewal. My premium was roughly R950.00 then I get an email stating that my new renewed Polic premium would be R1870.71 which is more than a 50% hike. After much fighting they would not relook the policy. I understand that a hike is due because of a bump or what have you but 10% even 15% would have been acceptable but not a 51% hike. I am disgusted with the way I was handled and I will never recomment King Price to anyone.

Here's the thing, like all insurers, we too need to implement policy rerates to keep up the rising costs or parts and repairs... Which even we can't ignore!
These costs aren't linked to the value of your car, which as you know, depreciates monthly. And unlike other insurers, King Price takes this into account and DECREASES your comprehensive car insurance premium every month.

So King Price will save me maybe R130.00 a year on my premium compared to its competitors, with the maybe R10 saving a month. Then charge me more than double when they come to renew. It is all smoke and mirrors. Also bearing in mind that inflation is maybe 10% (going mad) how is it justifiable that King Price can more than double someones premium? You see in my opinion King Price has lost out because I cancelled immediatley as I felt I was now being taken advantage of! Where as had you made the adjustment more reasonable I would have stayed with you indeffinatley. I have worked out what I have paid King Price and what my claim was. King Price took a huge hit but this would have been avoided if the increase was more reasonable and I would have stuck with King Price for good. I am dissapointed as I was happy with King Price. I just find it highly ********* and unprofessional to do business the way you do. Not only that But it took one of your Customer Care personele almost 3 weeks to get back to me regarding the change when he said it could be resolved within a few days.
