Unfair assessment on claim

My husband was in a motor vehicle accident on 23 Jan 2019. On 24 April 2019 he was informed that our vehicle was ready to be fetched. Excess was paid to the Service provider and my husband went to our car. Upon turning the key in the ignition our car did not start. The panel beater eventually assisted and then the car started. My husband did not sign the clearance form as well. The panel beater drove the vehicle and it was also picked up that the aircon and fan was not working. There after we were informed that this is due to wear and tear, possibly another claim. Our vehicle was with our insurer for 3 months. After a few telephone calls to King price yesterday, the assessor Brandon Mountjoy contacted me. As per our telephonic conversation I was informed that our vehicle will be sent for an independent report on the solenoid and the aircon system. This is being done in order to ascertain whether it is directly related to the accident or wear and tear. If damage is related to the accident it will be repaired and if not it will be for my account and this can only be done upon my consent. It is totally unfair that I must take responsibility for something that occurred in my insurers possession. Our vehicle was standing with our insurer for 3 months and now the buck is being passed onto the insured. Not once during the course of our claim did King price make contact with us, unless we contacted them. We have been greatly inconvenienced and King price keep on passing the buck onto the assessor. We pay a premium to King price and not the assessor. It is common courtesy for my insurer to take accountability and responsibility for the vehicle that was in their possession for all these. We have been patient for far too long. When will we receive our vehicle back in 100% working order????? Why after all this time we are being told that it is wear and tear???? As per our cover, we are suppose to be placed back in the same situation prior to the loss and now blame is being placed on us for something that went wrong when the vehicle was in the insured possession. We pay our premiums on time every month, why is it that we cant get the service we expect. Not being taken seriously even when the Call centre is contacted. One liner emails are sent to the assessors to contact me.

Received a call from Flip at King Price insurance and I am utterly disappointed with his remarks, blaming us for the further damages caused to our vehicle, whilst in their possession. to date I am awaiting an email from Flip, confirming our conversation. Sent an email this morning at 10.18am to Service management, Karusha Chetty, Unica H. Van Leeuwen , Maletsatsi Makoanyane, no response received. My email stated the following; Words cannot express my dissatisfaction in the manner which our claim was handled. "No courtesy call from my Insurance company King price. Wanted to mention more but do not want to waste my time further. Cut a long story short, claim was logged on 23 Jan 2019 and eventually our car was ready on 24 April 2019. When my husband went to fetch the car, it was not starting, aircon was not working and the fan. Apparently this was maintenance related and yet all of this was in working order prior to the accident. Why must your service provider bear the brunt of our dispute and not be paid, due to us not signing the clearance certificate? Please pay your service provider as we are not signing the clearance certificate, matter is being taken up with the Motor Ombudsman and we are not obligated to sign this document. Your Service provider has been awesome and has gone out of their way to assist us. It is not their fault that things have gone wrong with the vehicle, King price should take accountability." Also, this is a third party claim, excess was paid on 24 Apr 2019 and their is no mention of recovery. Our vehicle is still in their possession due to faults. Service providers on King price panel provide better service than King price themselves. Stop with your stories and think outside the box. Put yourself in the client's shoes!!!!!! what would it take for us to get our car back. Stop blaming us for the faults that occurred whilst the vehicle was in your possession. Treating customers fairly is the last thing on your'lls mind. When I am contacted, give us a resolution not blame us for the further damage that has occurred.
