Third party claim with King Price has left me feeling frustrated
On the 1st of March, I was involved in a collision when a King Price client veered off a pavement and struck my vehicle while I had the right of way on the main road.
We exchanged details, and the King Price client admitted fault. I promptly reported the incident to the police and provided the AR number to the King Price client on the same day.
With no communication from them, I reached out to King Price on March 6th to inquire about starting my claim since their client was at fault.
After a follow-up, they sent me the claim forms via email. I completed and submitted the claim on March 15th, receiving a response from Kylie His**** from claims processing.
On March 20th, I followed up again, and she informed me that the claim was still in the validation process. I contacted her once more on March 26th, receiving the same update.
Despite calling her on March 26th, she was unavailable until three hours later. When she returned my call, she reiterated that the claim was still in validation. Dissatisfied with the delay, I expressed my intention to pursue legal action. Shortly after, Steven from King Price contacted me, reiterating the same information and mentioning shared fault, implying blame on my part for an accident I did not cause.
Furthermore, Steven mentioned that King Price might not cover the full amount indicated in the quotes I submitted due to the accident's nature. However, it's essential to emphasize that I had the right of way when the King Price client collided with my vehicle, as acknowledged in his statement admitting guilt.
I want to emphasize the critical impact of this situation on my ability to perform my job, as my vehicle, which the King Price client collided with, is essential for my duties. The delay in resolving my claim, for an accident I didn't cause, is causing me immense stress and additional hardship.
It's concerning that the King Price client's claim was approved on March 8th, yet they're still awaiting parts. Moreover, I was informed by King Price that they'll only address my claim once their client's vehicle is repaired, with Steven indicating it could still take weeks for a final decision on my claim.
I sincerely hope that all King Price customers are aware of the potential challenges they may encounter when dealing with the company.
Additionally, I had to directly contact the King Price client, the responsible party, to inform him that his insurance company wouldn't cover the full value of my claim. It's disappointing that he expressed dissatisfaction with this, as he expected King Price to support him as their paying client.
Having previously been with King Price, I'm relieved that I switched to Naked Insurance, where I feel supported as a client.
At this point, I am extremely frustrated, and I intend to lodge complaints with the Ombudsman, Wendy Knowler, and directly with King Price's Head Office. It's unfair for me, as a third party, to be in this situation for an accident I didn't cause.
I will also be discussing this matter with my lawyers.
Please note a 3rd party claim is a legal process and therefore can be a protracted process. Our Legal team will be in contact with an update.
