They just don't care as they 'claim' they do

In 2015 I was involved in an accident, not my fault, the guilty party's car was not licensed at the time, but I felt sorry for her and didn't contact SAPS to intervene. King Price assured me that they will claim my excess back from the guilty party as well as the costs for the repairs done to my car. A year after the accident I contacted King Price to get an update on the matter, all their correspondences pointed to the fact that they have not yet made any attempt to get the money back yet, at that time I was still a loyal paying client of King Price. A few weeks later, after numerous emails from my side, they said that the matter has been handed over to an attorney as they need to make a plan to get the money from the guilty party. Once again, I waited, patiently. A few months later I again contacted them, and they still had no answer, except that they received an affidavit claiming that the guilty party couldn't pay them because she didn't have a job at the time... NOW, a few weeks ago, I once again contacted KP, hoping that this would have made some progress, they first had to get the documentation back from the attorney as the attorney no longer does business with KP. King Price now states that it is uneconomical to further pursue this matter, and will not continue. NOW all of a sudden, they tell me that I was never guaranteed that I will receive my excess back after a claim. BEWARE OF KING PRICE! The guilty parties have more right to your money than you have yourself.

Dear Mr Bosman,

We refer to your complaint dated 29 April 2019. We would like to refer you to a conversation you had with our Jecintha Louw dated 08 April 2015. During this discussion Jecintha informed you that the recovery process is a lengthy process and not guaranteed. As you are aware we were unfortunately unsuccessful with the recovery of the damages from the 3rd party due. It is an unfortunate reality that 70% of the vehicles on the road are not insured. In these circumstances we have to make intelligent decisions as to how much we spend in an attempt recover our clients excesses as well as the damages we paid. The philosophy of throwing good money after bad describes this in a logical manner. If we are not cognisant of this fact this will have a detrimental effect on the premiums paid by all our policy holders. The third party involved in your accident is a man of straw and we have no chances of success if we proceed and therefore the decision was made to abandon the matter.
