the fight for a discount.....

8 years is not something to be taken likely..... 8 years of paying a premium and only making a windscreen replacement claim in that period is almost un-heard of.... What a disappointment today when I have been informed that my premium increase cannot be brought down as I do not have any discounts...... after 8 years of basically no claim made from my side and continuously paying my premiums, what else do I need to qualify for the discounts.... Should I tell friends and family about king price, to ensure I qualify for a discount on my premium. Should advertise and get people to join the king price to ensure I get the discount….

If only having a windscreen claim in a period of 8 years is not enough to qualify for the discounts, then next time I should replace the screen myself and then perhaps I would fit in the criteria that King Price would find more suitable to give a discount…

The fact is that I have paid premiums for the last 8 years, and basically not made any substantial claims on my policy… I have been a loyal customer and have been fortunate not find myself in a situation where I needed to make a claim….

So why increase my premium for a vehicle that continues to depreciate…. The logic that it’s the annual increase, just doesn’t make sense anymore. Its not like my vehicle increases annually… My risk profile and history should have been a factor in terms of my premium, but this doesn’t seem to be a factor considered by King Price. Funny how an organisation claims to be unique. Claims to be there for the interest of its client’s… claims to be ahead of the competition…. The truth of the matter is that King price is just like any other insurance company….

Here's the thing, like all insurers, we too need to implement policy rerates to keep up the rising costs of parts, labour rates, repairs, inflation etc... Which even we can't ignore!

These costs aren't linked to the value of your car, which as you know, depreciates monthly. And unlike other insurers, King Price takes this into account and DECREASES your comprehensive car insurance premium every month.

But you know we do our best to save you as much money as possible.... So we have sent a copy of your message on to our Client Care division, who will be in touch shortly to discuss your policy.

Royal regards,

The king and his court

Here’s the thing…… It just doesn’t make sense….

Decrease the monthly premium with such small amounts every month and then just increase the premium annually….

So basically what is due to King price will be collected regardless of the consumer’s history of no claims….

I have been informed that I do not qualify for any discounts and that the only option would be to increase my Access or take away the car hire benefit. This notion seems very unfair as I have paid premiums for 8 years and not claimed this benefit

Logically I understand that car insurance is not a savings account and that the business is set up to make a profit. On the other hand, it seems unfair that no consideration is taken to review my risk and premium based on my history….

Hi Randy

Our retentions team has been in contact to discuss, unfortunately there is nothing further we can do regarding the premium charged.
