King Price

<div>My advice to anyone looking for insurance would be to stay well away from this company, their consultants are very pushy (understandable as they are probably commission based) but also their premiums and cover are nowhere near as good as what they profess to be, and if they are this rude and abrupt to prospective clients, I would not like to see what they are like when they have to pay out on a claim. What an awful experience. I was contacted by a consultant yesterday, 13.07.2022, and gave them all my details. I was quoted ±R5004 for the policy and I advised the consultant that I would confirm cover after checking the policy on the e-mail I asked them for. Minutes later I received a call from the sales manager who told me he had been listening in to the conversation and requested that I give them permission to activate the policy. I rep**** yes, once I had seen the policy e-mail and would then confirm with them. On going through the policy and comparing it to my present policy the next day, I discovered that the premiums were more expensive on EVERY vehicle, as well as on the homeowners, householders and specified items, as well as having substantially higher excesses on all the items (up to three times as much in certain cases). I rep**** to the e-mail requesting that the policy be cancelled, as I would be staying with my present insurers. Approximately an hour later I received a call from a very rude and abrupt “Senior consultant” whose tone of voice was very confrontational. I explained that my present policy was better for me than what King Price was offering, but this did not satisfy the “senior consultant” who questioned my present insurer’s length of existence, which is ironical, as I don’t remember King Price being around that long. He also questioned the values that my present insurer was using for the vehicles which was similar to what King Price was using. The excesses payable with King Price were far higher than my present insurer, being up to three times higher than what I presently have, and this was refuted by the “senior consultant” even though I read out the excesses from my present policy to him. The homeowners cover premium was well over double what my present insurer is charging. At the end of the call, I was “threatened” by the “Senior consultant” that having got the quote/policy from King Price and not having accepted it, that my credit score would now be downgraded as I should not be “shopping around” or words to that effect. (I believe that there is a cooling off period of 5 days from “inception” of the policy within which the policy can be cancelled, which was not explained to me, and which should negate any negative credit scoring.) When I told the “senior consultant” that I found his tone and attitude to be wrong, he then abruptly ended the call and would not give me his name, as I said I would be contacting HelloPeter. My advice to anyone looking for insurance would be to stay well away from this company, their consultants are very pushy (understandable as they are probably commission based) but also their premiums and cover are no where near as good as what they profess to be, and if they are this rude and abrupt to prospective clients, I would not like to see what they are like when they have to pay out on a claim.</div>
