Shocking service from King Price
My daughter insured her vehicle upon purchase with King Price Insurance on 15 October 2019. She took delivery at 17h30 of the 15th. She was called by an agent at King Price who discussed the insurance with her. She was told that the 1st premium would be deducted on her selected date which was the 20th and he spoke about the pro-rated amount for the current month which was not clearly defined as going off immediately. She assumed that this would also go off on the 20th. On Thursday 17th October, in the evening she unfortunately had an accident. She contacted King Price and they arranged for a breakdown to take the vehicle. They verified all her details and at that point did not dispute her insurance. At 6.15 the next mnorning she gets an sms from King Price that her pro-rated premium did not go through. She contacted King Price to remedy the situation and was told taht they only worked with debit orders and that the debit order would go through on the 18th but only effective the 18th. That means that the accident would not be covered. Upon further discussions with various members of the King Price team, different stories had emerged. We have now determined that the claim has been rejected on the 18th. A rejection letter was sent to my daughter and in the letter, it states that the claim was rejected because of non payment of the poremium. However, fruther in the letter it states that a 15 day grace period is provided to remedy the sitiation. Remember, that my daughter was in discussion to remedy the situation on that day but was told that no banking details were available. I then took over communication and was flabbergasted when the supervisor that I spoke to was adamant that procedure was followed in the whole process. What procesdure? Firstly no attempot was made to remedy. Suddenly a pro-rated premium was taken after the fact but only from Monday 22nd October. There was also a premium taken for November. Now King Price was quick to take money knowing full well that the vehicle was involved in an accident. What are they insuring now? I follwoed up with King Price about the fact that they sent the vehicle to an assessment centre when there was no need to (They rejected the claim). What gave them the right to perfom an assessment on my daughters vehicle? How do I know that they did not do something to the vehicle since they are not trustworthy? They follow procedure but again what procedure? My daughter has been asked to pick the vehicle up and I asked the Supervisor where this vehcile was to be picked up and she said it was in the rejection letter. Well, I wonder what she had been reading because no such information is in the letter. My daughter has already asked for the recording of the conversation between her and the agent when the insurance was taken out and to date this is not forthcoming. I urge King Price to have all recordings related to this made ready and I will personally come and pick them up. From the date the insurance was arranged till th 26th October.
